QCBAC member Matt brought us something VERY special this year.  His new Lotus 2-Eleven!  It delivers on every level: brawn, brains and beauty. In other words, it is performance through lightweight taken to the extreme.  I shot this tiny bit of video as the car was leaving at the end of our Autofest.  It can be seen here on YouTube.

slavenslotus211a09.jpg (63600 bytes) It looks fast even parked.  Designed for only the most serious of driving enthusiasts, the Lotus 2-Eleven offers racecar performance, legendary ride and handling, and standard safety features usually associated with the Elise and Exige.  This seemed to be the car people at this year's show most enjoyed taking a picture of.

slavenslotus211b09.jpg (54509 bytes) From the rear, the only thing most other cars see when this car is on the track.  At a mere 1477 lbs dry weight with base specification, that means a power to weight ratio comparable to a 1960's Formula One racecar. slavenslotus211d09.jpg (62001 bytes) Powered by a supercharged, intercooled 1796 cc engine, the 2-Eleven delivers an impressive 252 horsepower. The Lotus T4e electronic engine management system has also been enhanced to provide a new feature for the 2-Eleven: variable traction control.

Besides the cool cars and nice people, there is always something even more to see at this event if you look close enough.

Besides being nice enough to donate some funds to offset part of the cost of trophies, the nice fine people at Lujack's brought some nice examples of Jaguars that are currently available.

A long shot of  the 2009 Heartland British Autofest.

See you next year, same place, same time!

Congratulations to all the award winners.
We would like to see everyone back again next year as without all the fine British cars,
motorcycles, participants and volunteers the show would not be successful.
